  cum on feel the newz

1st September 2017

Edition sixty one of Cum On Feel The Newz.

If you thought we were going to be obvious this week and choose Bob Dylan's classic 'Highway 61 Revisited' for the intro, with its poetic tales of political and cultural chaos - you'd be right.

Let's do this...

Inglorious
Troldhaugen
Schoolyards
Power Quest
Orden Ogan
Ritual Boogie
The Slayerking
Death Blooms
Dirty Thrills
Amaranthe
Lavidius
Samarkind
Megaira
Witchery
Jonny Lang
Royal Republic

Inglorious are gearing up for their UK and Eire headline tour starting on 30th September Venues are filling up fast with three dates already completely sold out.

This tour comes after the Kevin Shirley-mixed new album 'II' stormed into the UK Rock Charts at number one, with its twelve tracks of top quality hard rock. A new video for the defiant and driving 'Change Is Coming' has just been released and can be seen below

Support on the majority of the UK dates comes from Frontiers label-mates Wayward Sons, fronted by Toby Jepson. The tour runs until 20th October, ending with a prestigious show at London's Electric Ballroom, Camden.

Orden Ogan release their new lyric video for 'Vampire In Ghost Town', taken from their critically acclaimed new album 'Gunmen' which is out now.

The German melodic power Metal institution will embark on their next headlining European tour this October and November, taking their new studio record and special guests Rhapsody Of Fire With them on the road.

Undoubtedly the band has delivered their heaviest but at the same time also most melodic piece of work.

The new single 'Rabbit Hole' by London based rockers Dirty Thrills is released today. The mid-tempo, blues infused song is taken from their new album, 'Heavy Living', which is out on 15th September.

With lung-busting, powerful vocals from front man Louis James, killer guitar riffs from Jack Fawdry and solid low-end grooves from the rhythm section of Aaron Plows and Steve Corrigan, each member's wide-ranging influences also combine to produce a pool of sound similar to current rock icons such as Queens of the Stone Age, The Black Keys and Rival Sons.

Dirty Thrills are heading out on a UK tour in November as support to Black Star Riders along with Tax The Heat and Blues Pills.

Following two preview singles (including a collabaration with Soilwork on 'Days Get Darker') 'Helisma', the new album from Brisbane's Metal lords Lavidius is now unleashed on the world.

In June 2016, Lavidius entered studio Anders Debeerz with Adam Merker to record this debut album, and through Adam Merker that the connection Soilwork's Björn Strid was made.

Guitarist Jon Shedden said "We are absolutely stoked to have been able to work with Björn, Soilwork have been a massive influence on all our lives and our music journeys. Soilwork are personally one of my all time favorite bands. We all really hope everyone digs the direction of this album - because we couldn't be happier with how it's all sounding!"

It's time to take a trip into the wild world of Troldhaugen with 'Idio+Syncrasies', the latest and whack-est instalment from everyone's favourite folk-prog-circus-metal-hybrid.

The album is released today, and "the band are heading on the "Get Outta Town" tour through NSW and the ACT in September, straight up as the record drops.

Immediately after this short but sweet tour, they are heading to Europe to tour alongside Pirate crew Alestorm in late September and October.

Amaranthe have released the video for the incredibly catchy song 'Maximize' from their latest album 'Maximalism', out now via Spinefarm Records. It marks the third video released from the album, following 'That Song' and 'Boomerang'.

"'Understated' is not what you usually associate Amaranthe with," said guitarist Olof Mörck. "But seeing the raw emotion and personalities combined with 'Maximize,' I was convinced that we captured part of the essence of the Amaranthe live machine. Ladies and gentlemen; this is Amaranthe at its rawest and most distilled form! See you all on the road this fall, as the Maximalism world tour invades a city near you!”

Amaranthe can be seen on a co-headline European tour with Eluveitie in October/November.

A few months after unveiling their debut single with the official music video of 'Mady' French rock'n'core outfit Schoolyards just unleased a brand new excerpt from the upcoming album with this animated video of the song 'From 29 to 44'.

The band told us: "From 29 to 44 is a summertime foxtrot-boogie-core song which address the causes of the recent rise of xenophic-populism. Currently the Gini index - which mesures wealth inequalities - is close to its 1929 records.

"In this context, Schoolyards thought it was quite fair to notify the new ordo-liberals and their paws, that it might be time to stop privatizing profits and socializing losses: intentionally creating uneducated unemployed angry people is never a good recipe for your future and safety."

The band will release debut album 'Comrades 2.0' later in September.

A few weeks after the official release of debut full-length album 'Middle Age Dust', psychedelic/acid-rock power-trio from Switzerland, Ritual Boogie are streaming the full contents on YouTube.

The album is still available for physical and digital release through Urgence Disk Records and distributed by Irascible.

Megaira formed in 2009 at the ABC Paulista region, Brazil, comprising Paulo Schimit (Guttural Vocals), Annia Bertoni (Metal Vocals), Paulo Melo (Guitar), Tiago Souza (Bass) with the participation of the Murillo Vuldroph (Drums). The songs bring influences of Black Metal with 80's Trash / Death / Power Metal and all the compositions are based in historical studies on Greek Mythology.

In 2010, the band performed in the capital of São Paulo and in the following year was marked by the completion of the debut album. . In the first half of 2012, the process of recording "Power, Lies and Death" was started with recordings and mastering by producer Luiz Portinari and finished with the adictional mastering and mixing by producer Thiago Oliveira (Warrel Dane).

The result was an album that features Extreme Metal and Traditional Metal with guttural/death vocals contrasting with female Heavy Metal vocals, showing a new way for telling Greek Mythology stories with a touch of nostalgia from great bands of the past decades. It's cool, check it out.

The Slayerking are a new band with great potential. The organic sound, the looks and the overall performance is a blend of the 70s, the 80s and the 90s; three decades with had a huge impact on Metal.

The video for new and unreleased track 'We Crucified the Pilgrims They Believed in You (Fall from Grace)' is available now. The original studio version will be featured in the upcoming 2nd album 'Tetragrammaton'.

Catch The Slayerking live over Europe this September.

Power Quest, the renowned melodic power Metal band based in the UK, just released a lyric video for 'Kings And Glory', the first single from their long awaited 6th album 'Sixth Dimension'. The album will be released on October 13th via Inner Wound Recordings in Europe/USA and on October 11th in Japan via Marquee/Avalon.

'Sixth Dimension' was mastered by Jens Bogren (Dragonforce, Symphony X, Arch Enemy) and the artwork was created by Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody of Fire, Iced Earth). The album includes guest appearances by Anette Olzon (ex. Nightwish), Andrea Martongelli (Arthemis, ex. Power Quest) and Lars Rettkowitz (Freedom Call).

Following up last year's acclaimed 'In His Infernal Majesty's Service' album, Swedish blackened thrash Metallers Witchery have announced the release of their new album 'I Am Legion' for November 10th, 2017 via Century Media Records.

Guitarist Jensen told us: "Those of you who saw us play at Wacken a few weeks ago got to hear the world premiere of the song 'True North', which will be the first single from the new album. Itis somewhat of a different song compared to what Witchery usually puts out. Maybe that's why we made it the first song on the new album? Regardless, it's a song that we in the band all really like and that most likely will become a regular in our live set."

Check out 'True North' here with a video produced by Niklas Sundin / Cabin fever media:

Following the success of their first single 'Sun Stroke Heart', multi-national hard rock blues group Samarkind have announced their self-titled debut album will be released on 24th November 2017.

Featuring eight tracks and clocking in at 33 minutes, this short (but most definitely sweet) album release is set to be one of the highlights of the year for music fans who enjoy rock that's to the point and crafted with talent, passion and care.

Ahead of their debut album release, Samarkind are guests to Inglorious when they play The Academy in Dublin on the 4th of October.

Rising Metal band Death Blooms have been confirmed as guests on legendary horrorcore duo Insane Clown Posse's UK tour this November, with special guests Mushroomhead.

Death Blooms frontman, Paul Barrow, says, "We're really honoured and excited to be a part of this tour, especially with two bands who epitomise the scene which we grew up in. It's going to be amazing to be able to share the stage with them and we can't wait to get out there!"

Hailing from Liverpool/Manchester UK, Death Blooms released their blistering self titled debut EP last May and received critical acclaim from the press and music fans alike for its melodic hardcore Metal fusion. Supporters of the charity Mind, the songs on Death Blooms new EP highlight the need to be more understanding of mental health issues and support those around us in our community.

Following the release of his brand new studio album 'Signs', Grammy Award winner Jonny Lang has released the official music video for 'Stronger Together'.

Since the release of his debut album, Jonny Lang has built a reputation as one of the best live performers and guitarists of his generation. The path Lang has been on has brought him the opportunity to support or perform with some of the most respected legends in music. He has shared the stage with everyone from The Rolling Stones, B.B. King, Aerosmith and Buddy Guy, who he continues to tour with today.

You can check the video for Stronger Together here:

Royal Republic will be returning to London, England, on December 1st for their biggest UK headline performance yet. Taking place at the legendary Koko venue in Camden, the dapper RR boys will be delivering rock thrills in the form of big hooks, mountainous melodies and a signature sense of fun.

"We are returning to London and KOKO on December 1st. Tickets are available now! This will be the last show we play in the UK under the 'Weekend Man' flag and we intend to end it in style! Therefore, we present you with the following options:
A: Be there
Over and Out!
RR"

Having had to unfortunately cancel their mainstage performance at this year's Reading & Leeds Festivals the band are even more determined to put on a stellar show for fans in December.
